Anja van Dooren studied at the conservatories
of
Utrecht and The Hague (Netherlands) with
Bas de Jong (teaching musician) and Harmen de
Boer
(performing musician) respectively,
graduating in 1991
and 1994. She took masterclasses with Karl
Leister,
Hans Deinzer and Anthony Pay in Germany and
Italy.
Apart from doing replacements in several
professional
orchestras, she often plays chamber music in
various
ensembles including Ensemble Contours, the
Rossignol
Quartet (flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon)
and
Duo Modern. With Duo Modern (flute and
clarinet) she
made a CD in 2003 as a result of which the
duo performed
in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
With orchestra she performed as a soloist in
the Mozart
Clarinet Concerto more than once.
She is teaching the clarinet at the music
school of Leiden.
